Welcome back everybody. You guys asked me a lot to go over. Some lower-cost optic options out there on the market that’s. What we’re going to do today we’re going to go over the vortex strike fryer. You see here at my rifle 30-millimeter Red Dot optic. We go over some of the features of. It works basically some of the things. That have people have talked about. And concerned with since its come out. And then pretty much. What I think of it at the end but that’s what’s coming up today guys here’s. Everything that comes with the optic. You get your box here which has. All the fancy specs on the side here. It also demonstrates the red. And green to let you know. That is the model. You have that is the model we’re reviewing here today. You get your magnifier here. This is a 2x magnifier Hillis get your instruction manual the lens cleaner.
And your installation tool so moving on to the actual optic itself we’ll get. That stuff out of the way basic specs of is it’s going to be a 30 millimeter tube so. Any 30 millimeter mouth out there. It will work just fine on their basic operation of. It there’s your power button there just hit the power button. And your red dot appears. Once it’s already on. You can switch back. And forth from red to green as. You guys can see there here is your brightness mode turning it down. You can turn it up here with a button up front on top. Ishould say here’s your night vision button so. You actually hit it goes over so it’s only compatible with night vision devices turn. It back on to daylight. You just hit it again. And the power button. You forget to turn it will automatically go off after six hours. And to turn you do is press. And hold the power button. It goes off it takes about four seconds to go off on the rear of the optic here.
You do see the flip cap. We have flip caps on. Both the front and the rear they’re not bad for water days obviously it’s a budget optics so. You can’t complain too much about. They do work they will keep the dust out of there your adjustment points are going to be on the top. And on the bottom each click is a half MOA so roughly a half inch at 100 yards. You can see they’re very easily defined. You guys are new to a red dot optics. You don’t know how to zero check out my red optic zeroing video. It will apply to this red dot as well but definitely to know which way you’re going has nice positive clicks. You can use either a screwdriver cord. Whatever you may have on hand to actually make those adjustments. You can actually use car keys. Ibelieve that’s what I used. Iwas first set in one up here’s your battery compartment. It is a ring sealed speaking of. That the optic claims to be waterproof.
Idon’t know I would actually personally submerse. You could have it out there drain so. If you’re out there hunting maybe with. That magnifier you can’t have. It out there it will not get foggy like. Some lower and optics out there so it’ll keep. That moisture of battery there it’s powered by. One cr2 lithium ion battery relatively common. Most Walmart’s out there Ivan. You can go on Amazon. It does actually come with a battery so not too bad there the battery life on the optic is 2000 hours like. It does have the auto shutdown feature overall weight of. It without the mount is 72 ounces not sure exactly with them out.
What it comes in it but the overall length there are six inches so comparable to. Some other I can point compound three implant Pro cetera so relatively in the same ballpark as those. One thing a lot of folks aren’t there aren’t gonna like. You could say is it is made in China really not a big deal of. Any kind of budget optic. You see out there it’s gonna come in at. This price point is probably going to be made in China there’s just no getting around. Irealize you already familiar with. This optic out there it’s been out for a. Few years now actually the reason I’m reviewing it is the vortex2 is just came out so. One is actually driving down the cost of these so. These are still being produced the vortex.
One which we see here straight for our. And nowadays you can find these generally from 100 120 dollars so the prices come down about twenty to thirty dollars from. What it used to be even like a year ago so making them. More budget-friendly optic. You will a few things. That you’re giving up. Though like over a game point. Or EOTech let’s say. And it’s not parallax free says it’s parallax free beyond 50 yards. It probably is but within. That you’re going to get about a. One inch to 15 inch shifts for those of. That are unfamiliar with low parallaxes quick explanation so. We bring the rifle up. If your eye is not centered behind the red dot work should be like say you’re off the side. If you’re in a funny shooting position you’re kind of just looking through the edge of the optic.
You may have a shift in point of impact over. That dot is within 50 meters. Or 50 yards I should say so it’s not going to be a huge shift but an inch. Or so your given. That up also you’re going to give up battery life versus the name point no surprise there. Another thing I kind of don’t like about. It is just the interface the user interface so a lot of people myself included have accidentally turned. This light off or turned. This optic off but I think the button on the side. You rest it against the wall which is exactly. What I did it went off so it’s just. Something to keep in mind. That button can be relatively easily bumped to turn. And turn it to green.
You can actually oddly well hit. That make vision button as well on their gear. When you’re carrying it. Something so the interface has been improved on the new ones but on these uh threadbare ones it’s just. Something to be concerned with but on off for the money it’s definitely decent amount the mouth itself is pretty good. Now the screws in there. They seem to be of some sort of soft metal. Iwas actually using the. Provided tool with it seemed to sort of like strip them out a little bit. What you’d see with your average screws. That said if you’re just going to mount. Once you’re not gonna have to worry about. Or twice whatever the case may view. If you’re going to take. You may want to look into replacing those screws but on a solid mount.
It works it gives that lower one-third KO witness with your iron sights. That a lot of folks out there like but for the money. It seems to get the job done a relatively clear dot for Android up so not too much to complain about there. You guys have any questions. Ididn’t cover about. This optic anything else. You can always post below in the comment section. You can also post over at my Facebook page. All guys thanks for watching thanks for subscribing and help see in the next video you.
This is Chase from Optics Planet. And today I’ve got the Vortex StrikeFire The coolest feature of the StrikeFire is the red. Or green dot you can achieve with. This model with press of a button Green. Some people like for brighter lighting conditions You know green is. More easily picked up by the human eye. They can see the contrast between green colors. More easily There’s also red which is. You know people grew up with red You know. Ipersonally like red that’s. What I had in the army was a red dot sight. Ilike red but green is also really cool. And its kinda been growing on. Me You can easily switch between those two colors This will have a 4 MOA dot good size perfect for quick target acquisition You know. You get up and get on target really easy It comes with flip caps for objective an ocular All the adjustments are buttons so it’s really easy to press there’re no dials. That are gonna break up. Anything like that This. One is also night vision compatible. That does is bring down the brightness of the reticle to a level.
You can use it with the night vision device mounted directly behind Kind of cool feature To extend the range a little bit. It comes with this doubler. It will kind of extend your effective range make. It a little more precise The StrikeFire can come with two different ring heights This particular. One is the AR height pretty much. It gives you a absolute co-witness You can also get. This model with a low ring which is good for your shotguns 10-22 They call. That they’re hunting model Again it’s the Vortex StrikeFire It’s available at OpticsPlanetcom This is Chase thanks for watching!.
Extract fire — I was finally able to buy a red dot for my ar-15 which is sitting right behind. Me I’ve been just having the iron sights on. It for the first year. It I’m on a budget so. Ibought the ar-15 kept. It with iron sights. And then went got an optic for it so. What I chose I heard a lot of good things about vortex optics so. One is like I said the strike fighter two red dot system. One does have the red. And green reticle you can switch to. Several brightness settings awesome little red dot so far I’m really excited about. It hopefully soon I’ll be getting out to the range. And come in some video here of. Me shooting this the overall length of. This is 56 inches the weight is 72 balances the lens diameter is 30 millimeters the eye relief is unlimited at the max brightness it’s gonna run for 300 hours. And minimum brightness it’s gonna run for 6000 hours guys that’s a long time has to flip up lenses which will show here a little bit. It runs on a cr2 battery cr2 battery by the cantilever mount which is a 1/3 ko witness so really excited about. This can’t wait to get out to the range so let’s get to the so like. More tech strike fire to football lens caps works great just so. Everybody knows the right is unloaded. And safe nice little optics it’s nice on the firearm. One third coitus with my backup sights. This is the Ruger AR five six it’s on.
It is bone stock I haven’t done. Any modifications to. It other than adding the hit in play here to help. Us swing to and then adding the sling that’s. All I’ve done to and then. Now I’ve added the optic so really excited. This firearm a lot excited to have. This on there now, so we’ll go through the mode settings here let. And turn it on here. And then hopefully you guys can see. That but goes up through brightness. And things like that I’ll do. Another little close-up here of the optic really great I’m really excited about. It can’t wait to get out to the range. This out we’re gonna do. Some close-up shots. All right guys close-up of the optic here took. It off the rifle so. We can get a good overview of. It two little buttons on the back here talk. You press and hold turns. It on up or down on their brightness. You press and hold the bottom it’ll change.
It to a green press. And hold again it’ll change. It back to red I’ll show. That here in a second turn. You press and hold the top button. And it’ll shut off so let’s get over here. We can see the optic. That turned on already. You guys can see it there. It is nice red dot believe I’ve got. It at the brightest sitting try. This again nice red doctor press. And hold press and hold. We got a green dot on. That there we go a nice green dot I’m really excited to get out to the range. Ican’t wait I am gonna leave. It on the red dot I prefer. That so far with my eyesight. Ithink that’s gonna work. That may change I get out in the woods. Everything goes but. Iwanted to give you guys a close-up look of the optic really high high-quality optic can’t go wrong with vortex okay guys on my way to. Some family property we’re going to finally get out today.
And shoot they are cited in my cortex optics but let’s go my red dot. Ishould say okay I do a little bit of a gun shooting it’s gonna be really wet. And muddy we had a lot of rain here in Indiana so it’d be a nice muddy wet walk out there to the shooting-range I’m gonna use. This opportunity to carry my bug-out bag out there I’m gonna throw. It on it’s gonna be nice and heavy. And we’re gonna walk. It out hoofs out through the woods with. That goes see how much. Ineed to get in shape obviously. Ineed to get a lot. More in shape this is just step. And we’ll go from there so next video will be Meowth that’s right alright guys I’m out here at the range getting ready to sign in my vortex strike fire to red dot on my Ruger AR five six I’m using free to munition today let’s see. How today goes okay guys ended up being a little bit hot sorry lower.
It down here all right let’s see. What ok guys did more adjustments we’ll see. Where we’re at now let’s go suit we’ll go alright, so we’ve made a. More adjustments let’s see war right. Now final adjustments have been made new fresh target downrange let’s see. What we got let’s take our last three shots to confirm zero you.
This is the Razr AMG uh-1 with revolutionary technology first-class energy efficiency. And an impressive sight picture the uh-1 represents a new paradigm. And holographic weapon sight technology a single fused holographic element with no moving parts delivers a sharp reticle image with zero distortion. Or fade eyepiece glare. And visible stray light emissions are virtually eliminated allowing operators to maintain a stealth profile. And low-light situations an ultra efficient power system produces long battery life. And a micro USB port is available for charging when used with a rechargeable battery the shockproof aluminum base protects. All internal components. And eliminates the need for secondary housing shatterproof xr+ coated windows are scratch resistant with armored tech protection. And the interior is purged with argon gas for waterproof. And fog proof reliability in wet. Or humid conditions an integrated quick release mount makes. It easy to install on various Weaver. Or Pirating style bases manufactured as part of the AMG series the uh-1 sets a new standard for dynamic combat sights. And it’s covered for life by the vortex VIP warranty you.
The channel know I typically use a product for a really long time before. Imake a video about. Iwant to make sure. That the manufacturers claims are being met. Iwant to better understand the product so. What I need to tell my viewers but. Ido make the occasional exception as I’m going to be making in. This video for the new vortex razor AMG uh-1 holographic gun side. That is a mouthful which is why vortex just called. This the Huey, so I’m going to call. It the Huey from now on in the rest of the video the Huey has been promoted to the market since maybe December of last year it’s been in development for a lot longer. It got a lot of press at SHOT Show. Many people have back ordered. Igot on a list at OpticsPlanet to get a media unit. Igot on that list months. And months ago I finally got my media unit Tuesday. Or Wednesday of this past week. And in posting pictures. And a short little video to Facebook. And Instagram I realized. That there are a lot of questions out there. That have already been answered by vortex but not in. One place the answers aren’t in. One easy to find place there are also a lot of questions with answers. Ican give you simply. One of these in my hands I’m not going to be able to tell. How durable this is I’m. Now going to be to tell. How reliable this is I’m not going to be able to tell. How good this is to use on a shotgun. Or pistol caliber carbine. Something like that’s because. Ihaven’t used this on those things. Yet those are all answers.
That will be coming out soon enough as. These trickle out on the market but. What I do think I can do is give. Some useful information to. You who have a back order still active. And you’re wondering whether. You want to keep or those of. You who are wondering if. You want to order you like to be an early adopter things like. And that’s what’s coming up next on twang. And bang you the. Most common questions asked about. We have to do with its size is. It as big and heavy as. It looks compared to micro red dots from Trijicon an endpoint. It does look quite large but compared to. Something like the Trijicon rco it’s not. That large as it does weigh about double the weights of the micro red dots as well coming just under the weight of the for power our CEO.
However the Hughie has a much larger sight window. Any of them with a very thin hood. And no dials or nos whatsoever to obstruct your view of the target the Hughie is built with an integrated Pirating QD mount complete with a lever locking system that’s much easier to unlock. Any other system I’ve tried tension adjustment is tooless in a practical sense since a thumbnail is. All that’s needed to rotate the tension up with a latch open. This means you can quickly. And easily adjust the mountain tension to your rail with the sight in place which makes fine-tuning was easier. Than other QD mounting system the mount height is lower 1/3 code witness. And since the mount is truly an integral part of the sight body. You won’t be changing. That with an aftermarket solution the battery cab is captured so. You don’t have to worry about dropping and losing it. All the edges are generously radius to reduce snagging battery life with a standard cr123a is approximately 1500 hours which is two months at a moderate brightness setting you can also run an LFP battery.
And charge it rights in the optic with the waterproof micro USB port. It has a rubber dust. And impact cover but that’s. It doesn’t have to be in place for the site to be watertight down to at least 33 feet but probably. This is actually pretty standard tech for waterproof electronics so. This shouldn’t be much of a concern the port also has a safety circuit to prevent. You from trying to recharge a standard cr123 8. And burning your house down you’ll get about 600 hours out of a fully charged LFP which is three. And a half weeks the huey doesn’t have motion detection so. You must manually activate the reticle by pushing. Either of the brightness buttons pressing. Both at the same time turns.
It off the 15 MOA center dot is brighter. Then the rest of the reticle the lower triangle is for shooting within 10 yards as. It compensates for the effects of your over bore on a standard ar-15 rail height like with other holographic sights the reticle is a bit grainy. And not solid but because it’s painted with a laser. And not an LED shining through a filter in other words. You focus on the reticle. That it’s made up of a bunch of little red dots. They aren’t pixels technically but pix elated is otherwise a good description of. You do get ghosts reticles. You crank the brightness well above. Anything reasonable for the ambient light. They are very faint in comparison. Icould see no reasonable way you’d confuse the ghost radicals for the actual reticle. You have a astigmatism like. You should see you can look through. One of these before buying it as. Some esta batiks don’t like.
What they see while others really like. What they see I get a common effect from my aim points but. It never bothered me since. Ijust zero with the center of the comment so to speak with the huy it’s not really a comet effect instead the edges of the reticle look a bit thorny but the overall shape is easy to distinguish including the position of the central aiming dot. And the lower triangle. That said the lower triangle appears a little rounded to. Me but since it’s clearly larger. Than the central aiming dot. Idon’t see that being a problem. Either everyone’s a astigmatism is different so. You will see something different. What I see but as a qualitative comparison between. What I see on an aim point. Isee with the Huey could definitely be considered a. More well-defined reticle vortex design a Huey to greatly reduce. Any for trace from the reticle.
Many holographic sights have reticles. That can be easily seen from. Either side of the object leading famously to pictures of shooters with their sights on backwards for my observations I’ve been unable to see the reticle from the front in a conventional sense. However light coming in from a certain angle will indeed reflect out of the front of the sight. This Ruby glow is not very bright here but. You watch the same location on the Huey in my wrap-up at the end of the video you’ll see. It can indeed be quite stark. And clearly not a natural source of light that’s. Iwant to remind both the aim point red dots. And the Trijicon MRL have highly reflective ruby colored front lenses. That are always visible to. Anyone in front of your gun so the Huey isn’t exactly unique with. What I was surprised to find completely by accident was. That the lower triangle of the reticle can indeed project itself very brightly at an extreme angle from the sight axis so.
They could also get a visible reflection from. Both the MRO and Titu. Neither were nearly as bright. Or defined as a triangle projected from the Huey. Ihave no idea this is significant enough to be an issue for most shooters especially shooters who already run sites with highly reflective front lenses. And no kill flash I thought. It was important to show. What vortex might mean. They say they nearly eliminated. All signs of for trace a. Few other random facts. That don’t really line up with apart include the fact. That vortex did extensive testing on thermal drift. They found that nearly every red dot. They tested had measurable thermal drift but. Some were way worse. Than others, they claim.
That the Huey’s thermal drift is in the same territory as the aim points. They tested but obviously. This has to be independently verified. That vortex realizes. This is going to be tested. Though, so I’m giving them the benefit of the doubt. That they’re being honest with their self-assessment interestingly enough the holographic film for the reticle is made in the UK so the rest of the site is made in the US the front. And rear poly carbonate windows are too waterproof the internals. Nothing more you can bust out. And the sight will still work sealing up the electronics. This way is why the hood can be so relatively thin. And also why the hood extends the full length of the Huey so that’s why it looks like a brick like a Glock.
And not a boot like an EOTech lastly the Huey is indeed covered by vortex is legendary no questions asked warranty. You break they will replace. And pretty fast as I want to wrap up by talking about. Something I noticed. Iuse a holographic gun sight doesn’t have to do with vortex in particular. This is every holographic gun set I’ve ever used. Iuse lots of different red dot sights from vortex from Georgia Khan from Aimpoint Bushnell. Ithrow up any manufacturers red dot sight. Ilook through it feels the same to. Me there are differences in the quality the glass. That I’m looking through the color of the glass maybe there are differences in the brightness ability of the red dot but it’s. All a familiar feel to. Iswitch to the holographic gun sight there is a significant qualitative difference in. Idon’t know how to put. It I’ve struggled with coming up with words but. Ican see is that there’s. Something distracting to.
Me going from using red dots as thoroughly as. Ido to using a holographic gunsight. This is not just this is lots of Yeoh text. And that’s in the past kept. Me from actually going out. And getting an EOTech so. Idon’t know if that’s because of my slight astigmatism. Idon’t know if it’s because of other reasons. Ido feel that I’m getting used to. This to the degree this a lot. It probably would go away. You are a red gunsight user. And you’ve never used a holographic gunsight. You might throw this on again. And start using it and go at their’s. Something there’s something weird about. It there’s something wonky it’s not. Because it’s the vortex that’s the way. All holographic gunsights are for me. And it’s probably the same reason for you but again. Ithink it’s something.
That with it with use I’m going to be able to get used to. Ilook forward to putting into Razer AMJ uh-1 are the Huey -. More use you want learn. More about or to place your own order be sure to click the link in the video description below be sure to follow. Me on Facebook and Instagram. You can see the links right here be sure to click over there to subscribe so. You can catch my next videos on Beau’s guns. How the cool stuff will appreciate. You watch twang and bang. And hope to see you next time.
Oh hey. Everybody how’s it going into daily shooter. This going to be my full review of the new vortex razor AMG uh-1 holographic sight. This is a fairly new weapon sight to the market as a matter of fact at the time of. This video it’s only been out for a. Few months it already seems to be a very popular optic. Ido attribute that to the fact. That it’s a vortex you know vortex is a very popular brand people like them to make. Everything from your really high-end stuff down to the affordable stuff like their crossfire line of scopes. They have one of the best warranties in the industry so it’s no surprise. They come out with a new optic. Everybody jumps all over. Now in the stuff that I’ve read in the reviews. That I’ve read there seems to be. Some concerns people seem to be happy about certain things. And we’re going to go over. Everything I also have. Some concerns about. And I’ll go ahead and I’ll tell. You about those but for the. Most part I got to be honest. This is a very nice sight. Ithink absolutely worth the money so let’s go ahead we’re going to go to the table show. You guys some shooting footage. And we’ll get a closer look at. This thing now before. We get too far in the review. Ido want to mention. This site was sent to the channel by OpticsPlanet for testing and review.
And as a matter of fact. They actually gave me a better. Than normal discount code to share with. You guys for a limited time so the typical code. You would use is TDS 5. That will save you 5% over an OpticsPlanet on your entire order but for a limited time. You can use the code TDS 10. And save 10% off of your entire order. And that’s good until August 31st of 2017. It ends at 11:59 pm Central Standard Time so. You guys want to discount on. Or other optics you might be looking at go ahead. That discount code tdsn again I’ll put a link in the description. You guys are interested. Now let’s go ahead and let’s take a look at. This optic you are curious about the unboxing I’ve already done the unboxing for this in a separate video.
What the box looks are like right here. Iwent over all the contents. What it looks like you actually get. If you’re interested in. Iwill put a link to. That video as well in the description box so. You can watch the unboxing and the full review ok so let’s go ahead. And get started by taking a look at. Some external features of. This optic you can see here it’s a pretty nice looking design. Ilike it’s about three. And a half inches long. It does come with an integrated Pirating rail mount. One of the nice things about. This rail mount is it is quick detach. And the quick detach is locking so.
If for some reason this thing hung up on your gear it’s not going to pop. It off the rifle you would have to depress. This little button that’s right here before. You pulled up on that lever. It does hold it on to the rifle pretty nice. It has an adjustment screw on the opposite side right here. That just uses a standard flat-head screwdriver so. You can get this on as tight as. You would want you don’t want. It ever to come off again get tighten. It down pretty well. This isn’t all-metal design so. It is a little bit heavy. And that’s one of the downsides. Iwas talking about there’s been people who have mentioned concerns about. It being too heavy it is 118 ounces but.
When you’re talking about holographic weapon sights typically. They are heavier one of the reasons is. You can see it’s a fully metal design. And there has to be a lot. More material in order to protect the glass so since. This has a large viewing window so obviously there has to be. Some extra metal that goes up. And around the top and stuff. That protects the internal components so. They are typically heavier. Even an EOTech something like. That is going to run. You over eight ounces so that’s. Something to consider as well other al Tech models are. Something to consider. That it’s eleven point eight ounces. That again is one of the concerns. That people have brought up. Now on the design features on the external design features. One of the things I really like here is the fact. That the ocular lens is actually smaller. Than the objective lens.
That does is it eliminates a lot of. That tunnel vision you might get from other optics. Even optics that are not similar to. This like maybe like an aim point. You get a lot of that tunnel vision. When you’re looking through. This it’s more like. What I would kind of compare. It to the Trijicon MRO. That also has a smaller ocular lens. Than the objective what it does. That allow you is allows. You to look through. This front window here. This viewing window. Because the window on the other side is much bigger. You don’t get that same tunnel vision effect so. It is kind of nice design as far as. That goes as well now here. You can see our battery compartment. And holds a cr123 battery.
You can also use a couple different types of other rechargeable batteries as well. This thing is rechargeable through USB. You can actually recharge the batteries via the optic itself. It does come with a USB cable. Now the nice thing about. This battery compartment right here is captured so there is a metal lanyard. That attaches that to the optic so. That you’re not going to lose. That is a great feature we’re going to go ahead. And spin the we’re going to show. What I was talking about with the USB. This is our built-in USB port right here that’s. What allows you to charge like the RF cr123a batteries which are by vortex not necessarily the recommended battery to use. It does drop the battery life. Now battery life is. One of those things. That I’ve had a hard time finding as a matter of fact. Ican’t find the projected battery life for this. Idon’t know if that’s because. You know there’s several batteries.
You can use but I would expect. Iassume that it’s going to be around the two three maybes. Even five thousand hour range it’s not going to be in the 50000-hour range like a lot of other optics. This optic runs off of a laser not an LED, so they’re a little bit less efficient but there are. Some advantages to that as well. This side you can see. We have our wind age. We have our elevation adjustments as well as. That little retention screw as well. And I’m going to go ahead. And turn this around here are the mode buttons. This has 15 different brightness settings which to. Me is great I’ve run into a. Few optics recently. That didn’t have many settings. That having that much adjust ability really gives. You the opportunity to fine-tune.
Whatever environment. You might be in so we have up. We have downed you can push them. And turn this thing off. It does have a great reticle will go over the reticle in just a second here but again we’re just kind of talking about the external features. Now the way this is designed. You can see it does have the buttons in the back. Because it’s about three-and-a-half inches. It does take up quite a bit of real estate on the top rail that’s. Another concern some people are having. That I’ve read in the comment sections. That people were saying it is a bit long so. You want to move this forward on your rail to put a magnifier. Something like that behind. It there’s not much space. Igot to be honest with. Imean you’re going to have to push. This thing pretty forward. Now do keep in mind. That the clamp on this rail actually stops right here so. This whole front portion actually doesn’t hold on to the rail section so.
You can move all the way on the rail on the upper receiver. And still have it on the hand guard here without having any effects from. That exposure to the hand guard. You know any type of movement from the hand guard. Something like if you’re using a rest. Or whatnot only this section right here holds on so. You can move it forward. You can’t Adam magnifier. They have the vortex vmx relax that’s. What I have experience with. And it’s a great magnifier looking through. It was a little bit difficult only. Because again I had a hard time mounting everything in the right place. Iwanted it to but. It is definitely doable so. You want a magnifier. You can definitely run. That okay so here’s the battery. It came with again you can always check out the unboxing video. You want to see exactly. That arrived here’s the battery.
That came with simple energizer cr123a. You can see here we have nice aluminum components. It is a ring seal this is argon purged so it’s waterproof shockproof. You know all the proofs. You would want from a holographic weapon sight like. This but there you can get a kind of look inside the battery compartment. What it’s made out of it’s pretty nice it’s a pretty heavy-duty feeling thing and. Ido like the fact you can use a standard screwdriver. Even maybe the back of a shell casing something like. That in order to access the battery compartment no crazy tools. Now from what I’ve heard. What I understand this optic still remains waterproof. You break loose or forget to close completely the USB port cover so.
It is still waterproof at. That point which I definitely think is good. Because there are some optics out there. You lose a simple cap the optic no longer becomes waterproof. Ialso want to mention. If you’ve been watching this video. You see like a yellow hue inside the optic. Or on the lens that is not the optic itself. That is a reflection from. Idon’t tread on me flag which. Ihave behind this setup right. And that’s kind of showing in the optics so there is no yellow. You actually look at. This thing the glass is very nice it’s very clear it’s definitely up to vortex standards. It does have a multi coating on the lens. It is very low on reflection so.
You can see right here the reflection is quite a bit low. Ihave out in front of. This optic several of my studio lights. You don’t see that reflecting back into the camera which is pretty nice so. It is anti reflective scratch resistant shatter resistant. All sorts of good stuff. You can definitely look up. If you’re interested in. This scope right here but again very nice glass that’s. What I expect from vortex. It does have a small bluish green hue it’s kind of exaggerated by the camera right. It does show up very clear. When you’re looking at through. It three-three a naked eye okay. One thing I want to show. You we’re going to go ahead we’re going to talk about.
Some internals. That the optic actually projects through a series of mirrors. You could that there’s a hole at the bottom right there that’s actually. Where the emitter is. And again the emitter projects a laser instead of simple LED so it’s going to look a little bit different. And there is a very small fraction of the population out there who will see a flicker. Or a blink on a laser projected sight like. It seems to be flickering a little bit to. You that’s something. That a very small portion of the public might see but. Ithought I would make. You aware of now here’s the interesting thing about. One of the good things. One of the definite plus sizes is. That since the emitter.
And since everything is mirror reflected. And it’s down in the base of the optic. You have almost no light transmission out of the other side of. This optics so if let’s say for some reason. Somebody was looking at. You through night vision right. And night vision picks up. Even the smallest amount of light source. If they’re looking at the business side of your optic they’re not going to see. That light being emitted so other optics. You know give a reflection off of the actual ocular lens. And then back to your eye. They might be able to see. That light being emitted directly on. That lens that can give. You away with a holographic weapon sight like.
This you’re not going to have. That so that’s one of the things to consider as well it’s very stealthy it’s very low profile. And it’ll definitely keep. You from being seen in a situation like. One thing I also wanted to mention is. These are half MOA adjustment so for your wind age. And elevation it’s not a full MOA like a lot of other red dots. And holographic sights it’s not a quarter MOA which is typically reserved for scopes. One half MOA so that’s. Something to consider. When you’re zeroing this optic. Another tough feature. Ilike about this optic is the fact. All of the electronic components are contained within the base of the optic so. If for some reason something happened. It got damaged up top. You dropped they hit up top. It is a shatterproof lens. You have all of your electronic components down here so the chances of.
This running still even after being dropped. Or smashed something like. That are very high so it’s a really durable optic. Now unfortunately because of the environment. That I’m in right now for some reason. Icannot get a good image of the reticle so. Ican’t get a good still image for you but. When I’m out in a natural open environment. Icould see the red through the camera. Itried to get it a little bit for you tried to move. It around and show. You guys the field of view show. You exactly what it looks like. When you’re looking through. It tries to move it around a bit. You know kind of forgive. It was very windy on the day. This footage so just trying to hold. It still is actually kind of difficult but. You can see the reticle it’s a very nice reticle. It is a sectioned ring reticle. It has a 1 MOA dot in the center. It has a triangle at the bottom.
That is for zeroing at different distances so. If you’re zeroing it like 50 yards. You can use the center reticle the 1 MOA reticle. And then if you’re shooting out to 200 yards. You can use the triangle at the bottom in order to get the correct shot. Now the reticle does have. Some hash marks at the 12 3 6. And 9 o’clock positions. And again it’s a really nice looking reticle. It is definitely something. Iwould say is its kind of like a hybrid between the EOTech. And a standard red dot it’s really hard to explain but. It does make shooting really nice really easy. And to be honest with. You kind of fun it takes. Some guesswork out of a standard red dot. You know red dots don’t have. Any reference points. This actually has reference points. You can use for holdovers which is nice and. Ithink definitely a thumbs up a heads up against.
Some other red dots. That are on the market. Idid have one issue with. One issue one of the downsides again. Another downside I wanted to talk about is. You moved the reticle to the left side of the optic the reticle itself would start to disappear before. Even got to the edge of the optic so instead of the reticle disappearing as. It leaves the field of view. It was actually leaving before. Or fading before it left the field of view so. It actually took down the viewable part of the left portion of. That reticle as you’re trying to. You know look at different angles. Whatever that was another issue. One of the other issues. Ihad is something. That I’ve brought up to a couple people. And I’ve actually used two of these. This is my second and I’ve had. This issue on something.
It might not bother. Most people it kind of bothers. You have the optic turned up to a bright setting and maybe. You turn it into a darker background for instance. Iwas shooting in the light but. Iwould turn it into a shadowed area. Igot multiple reticles not just like flaring so. You have an optic you turn. It on it’s too bright. You would typically get. Some type of flaring off. That optic that’s normal that’s to be expected it’s too bright. And it’s not going to be as sharp. And crisp as you want. One instead of it flaring I actually saw would look like a flower a reticle on top a reticle at the three o’clock a reticle at the six o’clock. Or reticle at the nine o’clock. Though those reticles were faint. Icould still see them. And to be honest with. They were kind of distracting so you’d have to take. That you’d have to change your settings so bring it down so. When you’re looking into the shadow. Even from the sunlight. It would kind of tamp those down.
You won’t see them at normal settings. You have the settings bright that’s. They show up so that’s. Something I wanted to make sure. Iput out their see. What you guys think about. That twang in vain he did kind of first look first impressions video on. He noticed that as well. It didn’t really bother him. Either so again something to consider so again. Some bonuses to getting a holographic sight like. This obviously one of the major bonuses is going to be the huge field of view the wide viewing area. You would get from an optic like. This obviously you can see. It does have a wide viewing area it’s got a great ocular lens nice and easy to see so.
You can shoot with two eyes open. You can see a lot of your target downrange the reticle doesn’t take up the entire screen like. It might do on some micro red dots like the aim pointer hollow Sun. That might have a ring reticle a hollow Sun has a ring reticle as well as the center dot. It does take up quite a bit of the viewing window. You don’t have that with. Because the viewing window again is so big so. That is a nice touch. It comes to holographic sights like. This big viewing windows are a big bonus. Ido like the fact it uses a laser the laser is very very visible during the day. Some LEDs that I’ve been testing recently have not gotten quite bright enough during the day to be able to see effectively.
You don’t have that with. This particular with. This particular optic so. It is very nice and daytime visible again 15 different brightness levels which is fantastic. It feels very tough. Some downsides again. It does take a lot of your rail space three. And a half inches it weighs eleven point eight ounces that’s. Something that you’re gonna have to wrestle with yourself. If you’re looking for a safe queen. You know you’re making a bill. That you’re trying to do like a five pound rifle then. That might be a consideration but. You have type of muscle tone. Or texture at all then. You can handle an eleven point eight ounce optic it’s not going to root your rifle it’s not going to be too heavy. It is too heavy for you go ahead. And grab some weights from Walmart start working out a little bit. Because damn that is ridiculous the difference between an 8-ounce optic. Everybody loves on the EOTech.
Something like and then moving up just a. Few ounces is not going to kill. Ido understand that else is equal pounds but chances are you’re not going to be huffing it with. This optic through Iraq anyway so that’s. Something to consider. Us are just going to be range users like myself weekend warriors right so. It doesn’t bother me as far as the weight goes as far the real space goes that’s. Something you’re going to have to consider. You want to run optics. It does Co witness very nice it’s a 1/3 lower Co witness. You can use your standard backup sights. Iuse the standard polymer Magpul. And buff sites they co witness perfect with. Ihad no issues whatsoever the buttons are gray. And easy to see it has a lot of great features.
Or not they’re going to have a 20 come down later on down the road I’m not sure. You wanted to pick one up as is. Ithink you’re getting a great optic. Ithink it’s a good value. Imean the MSRP is $699 but. It sells for a lot less. That again check the link in the description box use the discount code. You can save yourself a bunch of money. And sometimes the OpticsPlanet. Even offers free shipping so free value shipping you can go over there. You can definitely check. It out so again this is a vortex razor mg uh-1 holographic sight fairly new to the market but. This is going to be a big hit amongst a lot of people so definitely. Something to watch definitely.
Something to check out. Iam going to be doing a comparison between. Some other optics coming later on down the road so hit. That subscribe button hit the little bell next to the subscribe button so. You could be reminded of. All future videos I want to thank. All very much for watching have a great day
everybody on stage dynamics. This is my review of the vortex razor uh-1 huey holographic sight well there’s certainly no shortage of optics on the market so. Any time a new one comes along the question. Some people ask is why what I have is good enough. Idon’t need to look at new optics. And for certain circumstances is definitely true. If you’ve got a venerable well-known trusted optic that’s that’s gonna do exactly. What you want it to do. You don’t necessarily have to seek out new options but. Ialways like to see what’s out there for a couple of reasons main reason being I’m gonna encounter. It in classes, so I want to know a little bit about. Iwant to put some time on. Iwant to see if it’s better. What I already have so. Idon’t review I don’t buy every single optic. That hits the market nor will. Ithere are certain optics. That pique my attention. And the uh-1 definitely did get my attention because of. Iguess the initial configuration the pricing the features. That were mentioned.
And the fact that I’ve had a pretty much a hate relationship with holographic style weapon sights in the past so. Iwanted to see someone had improved upon the concept versus your traditional LED projection optic getting right into features of the uh-1 the Huey the first thing you’re probably gonna notice is the profile. It does favor a small mobile home atop your rifle which isn’t necessarily a bad thing there is. Some aesthetic appeal to. It reminded me a little bit of like a fallout esque optic you’d see. Ibelieve that the ultimate shape. And design came down to. How the optic functions of course the biggest concern with an optic with. This kind of profile is going to be the tunnel vision the ubiquitous tunnel vision. That people talk about. They reference certain optic types because of the size of the viewing window. Ididn’t really notice. Any kind of tunnel vision effects be. It shoot static in. One point of aim regardless of distance. Or transitioning between.
One point of aim to. Another point of aim. Ididn’t find my eye buried in the wall. Either wall top or bottom for ceiling if. You will of the optic body itself so the profile to. Me didn’t really even present an issue. And the weight some people might be concerned like the overall size is gonna increase the weight compared to other optics it’s not a huge difference over. What else is out there so also weight wasn’t really a considerable factor for me the. One feature I definitely liked the. On the feature that appealed to. Most is the reticle I’m a simple man. It comes to optics I like just a single two Moas. One MOA dot from my point of the name on my rifles so. Istart getting a dot. And a ring and a delta.
This other business on what I consider to be a close to intermediate range distance optic I’m a little apprehensive well. Idid appreciate this the main reason being. That inside the reticle. Ihave my traditional point of aim from my zero distance which eyes ears. While fifty-four a fifty-two hundred zero but. Ialso have a delta at the bottom of the outer optic ring reticle ring rather which gives. Me a holdover position intuitive holdover position for my close quarters shooting which. Idefinitely appreciated speaking of the reticle I’ve got fifteen levels of intensity from lowest to highest the lowest settings work very well for Co witness with night vision. And the highest settings are for your really bright days.
Ididn’t ever have any issues shooting in extremes sunlight. Or shooting at night low-light conditions. Or under night vision with the reticle. Where the adjustment buttons are mounted to the rear, so they’re serviceable by. Either your primary. Or support hand on a fly. You need to make those adjustments so that’s not going to be an issue at. Another cool feature about the uh-1 is the battery powered on a cr123a but. It has a micro USB port so. You run a rechargeable 123 in there which those exist. You can actually recharge. This optic in a patrol car at the house. Wherever it happens to be so. That would greatly extend your battery life to keep the optic on kind of charge.
If you’re really concerned with the overall battery life. And battery life is going to be a concern versus. Some other optic styles. Idon’t mean concern isn’t is. It not a generous battery life but it’s not gonna give. You the same amount of battery life. That you’re gonna get from. Some other optic styles out there because of the holographic nature of the sight. It just draws more energy. And that’s going to be a considerable issue with holographics in general but. That doesn’t mean it can’t be a long-term type of optic I’ve had. It on the entire time I’ve been using it battery life was quoted in the info graph. Ihaven’t had any issues. Any flickering any failure points with. That finally on the reticle. It does have a 14-hour shutoff feature which is able to be disabled thank God. When people put in those auto off features. They don’t disable them so that’s definitely a win I’m glad. They thought to put.
That in their overall use of the reticle. It’s not too busy the window size is very generous in relation to the size of the reticle so. Idon’t feel like the reticle is needlessly getting in my way especially since I’m looking through. It so it’s not a considerable issue in. Any of the shooting. Idid during my personal practice be at intermediate range. Or my close range shooting I didn’t have. Any issues with the reticle no flickering no fading even in considerable heat. One of the problems of the past with holographic weapon sight sights has been thermal shift. Some older holographic. Some first holographic weapon sights. You had a sustained rate of fire your optic reticle might actually start to fade on. You as the heat affected the internal electronics which brings.
Us to the burn down. If you’re not familiar to burn down is 500 rounds as fast as possible with reason to see. If an accelerated rate of fire is going to cause. Any issue with the item optic accessory being reviewed so here. You go ever the frugal shooter. Iwas also working on the Magpul suppressor cover burned down at the very same time. Ifigure if I’m gonna do a burn down let’s put as much stuff on the gun as. Because money you know turned into smoke ammunition everybody’s got a budget no issues no fading the reticle remained at the same brightness level through the entire process zero was maintained. Ididn’t experience. Any issues know loosening ‘s. Icould observe occurred whatsoever during the burn down so definitely pass.
That of course the next question I’ve pretty much. Anybody is durability is. It go to be durable is. It go be able to handle. What I’m using it for is. It go to be done degrade air quotes is gonna be. Something I can depend on which is a very valid question. Imean things cost money so. We want to make sure. If we’re spending money on the. One optic that we’re going to use. We can depend on and I’m no different so the way. Itest your ability is accelerated a life cycle again you’re familiar with. Everybody some people are probably I’m waiting for it is the drop test I’m gonna drop the optic from a considerable height to see. It causes any problems whatsoever be. It shocks to the electronics. Or a failure or a loss in zero. This is a non magnified optic but. Idid 0 at 5200 but then. It just for continuities sake.
You will add a hundred meters for my 5 round group before the drop test so here’s. That 5 round group and then of course the drop. And here’s my 5 round group shot same distance after the drop test as. You can see no noticeable loss in 0 again the gun is 0 for 5200 I’m shooting at a hundred so there’s a little bit of holding there to put my rounds. Iwon them but the groups are as far as. Ican tell they need to be no zero has been lost. And throughout the rest of the review process the 2000 rounds. Ishot kept an eye on. And make sure that the zero was in fact maintained after the drop test. It was so after the 2000 round. Or 2000 rounds fired rather. Ifeel about the Huey the uh-1. Iactually like that may come as a surprise to. Because there are some people out there the thing I’m an optic snob.
Iam but to quantify. That I’m a snob and the fact. Ilike things that work. Ilike things that are reliable. Idon’t care necessarily. What something costs. If I’m gonna get my money’s worth. And often you spend a certain amount of money you’re gonna get your money’s worth be. You buy a two hundred dollar optic you’re probably going to get two hundred dollars with the performance. That doesn’t mean that inexpensive optics can’t be good but that’s. More of an exception. Than the rule I would not be embarrassed whatsoever to have the uh-1 on. Any of my rifles it a lot. Istill have apprehension. It comes to holographic sights based on my experiences with them in the past I’m glad to see.
Someone has improved. And I’m sure vortex isn’t the only. One but just speaking about. This particular optic has definitely improved upon the concept. And the execution of a holographic weapon sight the window is generous the reticle is intuitive. And very easily to use. Idon’t have any blooming there’s no refresh rate issues. Idon’t have an unnecessary IR signature under IR the brightness settings give. What I want the battery. You want can be recharged off the built-in USB the weight is negligible the only thing I would like to see. Ihad to say one thing and. This isn’t critiquing for the sake of critiquing its.
Something I generally like to see is the fact. It has a built-in mounting system. And we’ve seen this be a problem with. Some optics in the past. Someone wanted to raise the optic up. They couldn’t because the mounting system is built into the body of the optic. This has been a problem for me it’s always been a problem with the El can. Ilove the El can but. Ican’t without adding a riser to the rifle. Ican’t change the optic height. What I would like to see is them offer an option in the future for me to increase. Or decrease the height of the optic it’s a our centric right. Iwanted to put it on a scout type rifle. Iwanted to raise it up for night vision Co witnessing which.
Ididn’t really have a problem Co witnessing with. This optic on a night vision but. Some people might some people like. That 193 hight I would like to see. That be an option so. Idon’t have to seek out. Another additional part to add to my rifle before. Iput the optic on top of. That but beside I don’t really have. Any complaints I’m sure in the future battery life will be get better but again since. You can recharge it off a micro USB basically virtually anywhere. You can get power via the car. Or the house I don’t really consider to be the battery life to be. It has a generous battery life. Idon’t say the battery life to be an issue at. That feature exists so. II really like it I’m definitely gonna give it a recommendation. And I’m keeping it on. This rifle and plan to continue to use. It I’m Erin callus age dynamics trained accordingly.
Hey guys shoot the day again with the Ruger 10/22 just. Ihear plink enjoin. This pretty day well. You can see downrange there got a couple of clay pigeons on the big target they’re on tops of the post kind of towards the tops. And got three clay pigeons on the t-post there. Or about 40 yards away using the true glow red dot scope dialed in pretty good list. And we’re going to see. We can take them clay pigeons out they’re a lot of fun to shoot. You get instant feedback so let’s see. We take a few of those out. It was long pushed the hole right in. One on the right didn’t fall try. It again cans we finish him off danger a lot of fun to shoot I’ll be right back alright guys going to move in a little bit closer. This time got a hint clay pigeons up there got ten rounds in the rotary magazine so 10 rounds 10 targets let’s see. How good we can do I’m not going to be as far back. This time probably about 25 yards but. Idon’t care how good a marksman. You turn that camera on. You guys have made videos know. What I’m talking about pressures on so like. They 10 rounds 10 targets let’s see. What we can do to running in the hole just let the holes in the dev good alright guys. Iappreciate it I’ll be back just a second I’ve had.
Some PMs about this true globe read daughter by zesting what kind of red dot did. You have on that thing guess my Christmas video. Everybody was asking what kind of red dot. That was so it’s a true globe. More special I’ll be back just second five. You a closer look at. It hey guys won’t let. You guys get a look at the red dot scope on shoes. Itold as I said it’s a true glove GGC true little red dot bought at Walmart very inexpensive I’ve had. It for several years. Ibelieve I’m pretty sure. Ipaid under $30 for it but man. Iknow I’ll probably get. Some messages about. You know this thing’s a piece of junk. Whatever but uh no complaints man it’s been a great little red dot.
Idon’t know it holds up so. You know heavy caliber guns with recoil shotgun things like. That but far as of 22 goes on the Ruger 10/22 here it’s a perfect man. And it’s like say it’s kept at zero no complaints whatsoever. You can see it’s got eleven brightness settings there 1 1 to 11 it’s plenty bright for daytime I’m out here shooting in the Sun bright Sun today no problems in. It whatsoever as you can see there it’s got a knobs for wind age. And elevation adjustment flip up lens caps very nice protect your unions there see. Ican turn it on let. It’s about a 3 or 4 Moas dot it’s thisis very good size dot well see. We can get you can see. It there oh there you can see. Or not but okay that’s plenty bright enough good red dot.
Isaid no complaints. This bad boys had held. It zero for all these years so. Isay for the guys for the money. Irecommend I wouldn’t. Iprobably wouldn’t put. It on my AR but for a Ruger 10/22. You like just the red dot stuff without magnification good little scope man so anyways guys. Iappreciate it thanks for watching.
I’m Richard Mann this is empty cases sixty seconds. Iwant to talk to you about taking kids shooting and. How Sig electrostatics can help with. You know I was growing up about the. Most exciting thing a kid can do was go shooting but today kids have high tech video games. And smartphones that they’re addicted to so. You take a kid shooting there’re two things. You need to consider the first is. You need to use reactive targets. Anything that will give them immediate feedback. They make the shot the second thing you need to consider is the type of sites. That they’re going to use with a red dot sight a kids can keep. Both eyes open they don’t have to focus on three different planes the rear sight the front sight. And the target this new Romeo 3 compact reflex sight from Sig electrostatics is ideal for. It doesn’t add any weight to the farm so. When it’s time to take your kids shoot. And get them some reactive targets. And get them an uncomplicated sight that’s easy for them to use thanks for watching and remember it’s.
hey folks handy from the sig sauer Academy. This is the Romeo 3 fantastic site really intuitive to use I’ll get into why. That is here in just a minute first thing we’re going to talk about is the external portion of. This it’s a rugged aluminum body. And the inside is etched. And then the glass portion of. That is actually fit inside. That etching and then glued in place so. You can rest assured. That glass is fit in their nice and snug completely durable it’s gonna be there. You need it is mounted on our sig MPX a short-barreled platform. Iactually use this at the academy. And love run it with the Romeo 3 it’s extremely intuitive. Whenever I come up on target the site is always there. Whether I’m in alternate positions using barricades. Anything like that it’s really great crisp clear sight it’s a three minute of angle dot. What gives it its real Christmas. Even on those real bright sunny days. Ihave to crank the volume way up on. That brightness is our red notch technology which essentially just puts. That red dot on a medium instead of a glass so the brighter.
It doesn’t spread out into. That porous glass Reed here on the side. What you’re going to notice is the slide-out battery tray for your 2032 battery so. You can slide that battery out replace. It back in and never have to remove. This site from your weapon system which is always a plus so no need to redo. Anything like that here. It is mounted on the elevator. Now so you’ll be able to Co witness through your standard iron sights. Any sort of pic rail so like. This is just one application. You can use it for and. That I’ve used it for but. What you’ll see here. We talk about our elevation. And wind age adjustments which are minute of angle real tactile clicks. You know many clicks you’ve gone is. They lock in the back. Isaid a lot of applications for this so.
If we’re going for a large caliber pistol shot guns bolt guns carbines sub guns like. It is here even for a 45 offset on your scoped rifle your DMR. That lock back here is going to make sure. That your zero stays in place as always. These has mote AK technology so it’s motion activated so after two minutes of idleness. This battery or the optic is going to go into like a rest mode so. It senses movement any vibration it’s gonna reactivate on. That same power setting. You had before over here on the other side of the quick release you’ll have. These tactile raised rubberized buttons so no light low light. Ican feel and the arrows are up. And down, so I know which ones doing what these will cycle through. All your brightness settings again a lot of variable brightness settings in here so from a cloudy day to a bright day you’re always going to have.
That real crisp sight picture for more information on the Romeo 3. Any of our six-hour products visit sig sauer comm. And subscribe to our youtube channel so. You get to see our videos first you.

Whoo dug a hole hey thanks for tuning in at wagon bang. If you’ve been watching my channel since. Istarted almost two years ago you’ve seen. This optic a lot it’s my aim point t1. It in November 2011. It had been living on my 300 blackout SBR up until the point. This great upper from Bravo Company. This is its home it is absolutely my favorite optic for an SBR. It has a lot of uses beyond. And it’s not just its features. Or its size it has made. It popular with a lot of the top names in ARS it’s also its reputation for incredible durability. You might have seen Larry Vickers doing a torture test of a daniel defense rifle. He shot the t1 that was on. That rifle with a shotgun. He dropped it out of a moving vehicle. And then it broke the rear lens but the red pot still works still held zero then. That broken optic on the rifle. He dropped them off of a building he dropped them out of a helicopter.
And the Aimpoint t1 still worked that’s just YouTube’s testing there are plenty of real-world examples of unintentional abuse. That show why the aim point t1 is the gold standard for micro-sized red dots. Iwas able to get an h1 from Aimpoint to compare the two. And that’s what’s coming up next on twang. And bang the t1 is the top-of-the-line Aimpoint micro red dot sight it’s a non magnified reflex kilometer sight with zero parallax beyond 50 meters. And it’s available with. Either a two minute of angle. Or a four minute of angle dot size the t1 is the only micro. That it’s night vision compatible with a special lens coating and low intensity settings not found on. Either of the other microbes. All micros use a cr2032 lithium battery. And can be left on for over five years at a level-8 setting or in amazing 50 years at the night-vision settings on the t1 the h1 shares the same basic features.
And construction as a t1 let’s the night-vision compatibility. Both weigh only 84 grams. And are only 24 inches long by 16 inches wide by 14 inches high not including mount like the t1. That h1 is suitable for use on. Anything from handguns to carbines to crossbows to shotguns like. This Saiga 12 the turret caps on the micros are sealed by o-rings. And double as adjustment knobs they’re. Even labeled so you know the relationship between turns. And changes and point of impact which. Ithink is pretty slick. Each click equals 1/2 inch at 100 yards endpoint also includes. This red tool which can be used to adjust the turrets. Or the torque screws on the standard aim point mount the dot intensity is easily adjusted by the large knob on the right side the t1 has for night vision. And 8th day light settings. And h1 has 12 daylight settings setting 6 to 8 are best for most use with brighter settings for direct sunlight outdoors the red dot. All endpoint micros is a nice safe LED focused at infinity so.
It appears exactly at the range of your target. This gives the micro 0 parallax beyond 50 meters. And only minor parallax inside of. That range the t1 and h1 are. Both made of high-strength extruded aluminum. And hard anodized in matte black. They differ only in appearance at the logo which is wide on the h1. And the lens which has a green mirrored look at sharp angles on the t1 the green is an expensive phase-shift coating. That prevents the dot from burning in on night vision sensors so. You can use the h1 with night vision it’s not recommended. Because the dot can damage image. Or electronics with extended aim point offers a level release Picatinny mount. That is keyed to the sight body so. That micros maintain zero. Even under severe recoil risers are available for the lrp including this. That allows absolute Co witness with ar-15 iron sights a number of respected companies also offer mounts for the micro series including this.
One from LaRue tactical. You can usually find them as a package. That saves money compared to buying the micro in the mount separately. This is my favorite uses of micro close-up shooting with a short. And light SBR the dot is fast acquire. And useful in all lighting conditions not to worry about the battery dying or the optic quitting because of. Any impact that my rifle could survive you’ll also find micros on a lot of competition pistols the fact. This Gen 4 g17 is still cycling shows just. How light these sights actually are wow it’s really easy to stack them on top of. Each other one using a red dot but. What I really like about the t1 the h1. This is is the big field of view it’s very easy to pick up the dot. You press out that’s the biggest challenge. That people have they go from open sights to a red dot sight with open sights. You always know where those those sights are pointing because. You can see the whole slide.
You can see the front sight no matter. How far off it is from aligning up with the rear sight with red dots it’s not so easy. You have to have a good press out to be able to find. That dot and with the size of the field of view of the t1 h1. It makes it nice and easy. You can see this Glock I’ve done. Nothing to it I’m shooting training ammunition. This is not hot stuff. And it’s having no problem cycling with the h1 on top. Ihave a love this thing that’s fantastic aim point includes a bikini style lens cover with every micro. Though it’s is easy to lose as. It is easy to use many shooters choose to forego a cover altogether can go down offers a fantastic solution. That protects the micro. While keeping your lens covers handy for whenever. They are available in black f de OD green. And foliage green and they’ve proven quite popular since their release. One of the best features about the micro series is.
That the red dots are completely parallax free beyond 50 meters. That means that regardless of your head position behind the optic as soon as. You see the red dot. You have a really good idea of where your bullets going to go it’s not going to correct for the impact of form errors on your marksmanship but it’s going to reduce the impact of having to make a snap shooting decision. Or finding yourself in a very awkward shooting position. And still having to make the shot no optic is truly parallax free at. All ranges you move your head to extreme positions behind an aim point micro. You will notice a slight parallax effect at Short ranges it’s important to keep in mind. You get your head that far off a good cheek weld your form will have a greater effect on your point of impact.
Than the parallax and with proper training. Neither will be an issue. You can’t overcome at the close ranges. Where you’ll notice. You probably also notice. That there’s a slight green. Or blue tint to the optic. This is visible with. Both the t1 and the h1 the tint is just enough to reduce glare. And increase contrast between the dot. And the target without being a distraction. Or reducing the amount of light coming through the site. You shoot with both eyes open like. Ido the tint almost fully disappears. Though it’s still doing its job of making the sight. More effective you’ll find. That there’s about a fifty to sixty dollar difference in street price between the h1. And the t1 and of course the t1 has the. More expensive coating on the lens.
It has different positions in the rheostat so. You can use it with night vision equipment but. Iwanted to find out is there. Something more to the two of these. That would result in the h1 being less desirable. You read the specs the use specs for the h1. It doesn’t have the same depth rating it doesn’t have the same temperature range rating so I’m talking to an engineer at. Any point I found out. This the difference between the two optics comes down to the warranty. And that’s I could nail him down to is. That the warranty for the h1 doesn’t cover the same things at the. One warranty does you just need to look at the specifications of the h1. And see realistically does. That cover the uses. That you’re going to be putting it through. And for me the answer is absolutely yes I’m not going to be diving as a combat swimmer with. Either of these objects I’m not going to be going into the temperature extremes.
That the t1 is rated for but the h1 is not with. Either of these optics so. Ihave a t1 it at a great price. Ibought it I’d be just as happy with an h1 for my uses. Idon’t use I don’t have night-vision equipment. You want to learn more about the aim point micro series be sure to click the link in the video description below. You liked this video please take the time to log in. And click the like button. Or the plus button and Google+ YouTube need to know. You like firearms oriented programming and be sure to click right here to subscribe so. You can catch my next videos on Bo’s guns. And other cool things. Ireally appreciate. You watching twanging a bang. And hope to see you next time.
Everyone thank you for tuning in again to. Another episode of civilian tactical weapons comm today’s episodes actually can be about the Glock 17. And Aimpoint system so go. And check the gun is clear. What I want actually show. You here is what the aim point system looks like. You can actually put two different aim points technically three there’s also a silver. You can get there’s actually. One here is a micro h1. You can also out of course a micro t1 on here. What I have is the aim point mount the interesting thing about. You can see instead of like a lot of traditional types of ways. You see people mounting optics. What they’ll do is they’ll put. Some form of a rail system. That bolts onto the lower frame creates a floating top. Where the actual optic is stuck on top of. It the nice thing about the same point system is. This is actually bolted directly to the rear sight so the rear sight which is actually a push sight on a Glock it’s actually been completely replaced. Iactually have the same point mount system on. It so the nice thing about. If you’re gonna go ahead. One I’ve got a red dot right here so.
What I’m looking through. This optic I’m seeing a red dot so. If you’re thinking about quick acquisition same thing you do with carbines. And pistols what I’m able to do. Now with the micro t1 system on here is I’m able to acquire my target a fraction of a second quicker. Iwould would use traditional front rear sight pictures so. You think about your traditional sight pictures. All those things those are. All great fundamentals. You need to learn but. If you’re using a red dot system you’re getting. That much faster accuracy so. If you’re talking about not really accuracy. More target acquisition so you’re talking about doing playgrounds your time doing any competitive fire shooting you’ll see people have actually kind of went on to the red dot system so let. Me go ahead and have. This thing up close a little bit so.
What I’ve done here is actually zoomed in to the aim point micro t1 as. You can see it’s its very snug on the rear sight. This does not move shake. You know cause any other harm there’s been a. Few gun shows I went to over the last. Few weeks and my level of frustration with people buying fake aim points in fact. Some aim point boxes you’ll see. That you’ll see these gun shows will actually have I’ve actually seen completely replications of the aim point box. It can instantly feel is not an aim point by the weight they’re made of cheap plastic. And stuff all endpoint optics are actually made out of metal. Imean they’re metal optics they’re not made in China debating Sweden. And there’s a completely different level of quality from a real aim point versus.
Some made in China piece of crap. They sell them on these gun shows for fractions of the cost. You could not take one of these cheap airsoft made optics stick. It on a block like and have a deal with the constant recoil. This is the reason this is a really a big core difference of an aim point of. When you’re looking at a particular aim point system versus. Some knockoff is these are designed for a tremendous amount of. You know beating these optics up. You think of the recoil going on a moving the slides back. And forth these are the types of designs. That the end points are designed for not like. Some cheap airsoft one so the nice thing about. This I’ve done one enhancement to. And I’m gonna show you look at the front of the optic here. What I’ve done actually on. This optic is I’ve actually uh know. You have an iPhone or an Android phone. One of the popular things is. Some form of a screen protector. What I’ve done is actually cut out a hole of a screen protector.
It on top of the micro t1 here on the optic. You can’t even see. Even notice that it’s there. When I’m looking through the optic but the nice thing about. This thing comes up. If I’m concerned about. Any shell casing coming up here. And accidentally hitting his optic it’s not going to hit the optic it’s going to hit. This little piece of plastic. Ihave here and the nice thing about. This piece of plastic is it’s going to protect the lens from getting scratched. These are very resistant lenses those types of issues happening but. What I want to do was. You know if you’re looking at buying a. You know six $700 optic. Iwant to be sure I could protect. Most cases I don’t actually recommend. You do this little lens thing on. Anything else besides. You know this particular setup so. Idon’t have any uh setups but.
How close you look at how close. You know where the shell casings are ejecting out of the slide you’re very close to. That optics that is just a precaution anyway it’s. This is a very nice setup actually sell the same point set up for you guys definitely check. You have a Glock this is only done for the Glock so don’t ask. Me about any other handgun. They only make this mount for the clock. You do buy an aftermarket rail system. That will bolt onto your lower frame to create a floating a rail. And you’re writing a standard. You know mil spec you know pica tiny rail type system. You can mount this just the regular micro t1 directly on.
Any questions please email. Me at civilian tactical weapons comm at info at civilian tactical weapon comm. Ihope to see in a future episode.
a boy started in 1974 making the first red dot sight. And from that time. They have become legendary not only for military police but also for civilians. These are battle-proven they’re super tough. And over 1 million endpoint sites are currently being used by the US military. And the endpoint t1 has been king of the hill. It comes to micro red dots but. Now we’re going to take a look at the endpoint t2 which has features. That not only match the t1 but go a number of steps above to. One of the biggest appeals of a microdot is the small footprint. It makes on your rifle the air 15 was made to be very streamlined. And very lightweight maneuverable put a red dot on here. It makes it really compact putting a larger optic on here definitely gives. Some advantages because of magnification but really. It makes it nice for this rifle. And that’s just one things.
Ilike not only is it small is small. They come in at three ounces without the mount with the standard endpoint mount is 37 ounces there are a ton of different mounting options out on the market not only from endpoint but also different variations for quick detach. And other skeletonized mounts so there’s a lot of choices. This just happens to be. One of the kinetic development group is the SD e lock. This is a really cool quick detach mount will kind of look at. That a little bit more in a minute but there are so. Many options out there which makes. More appealing the length is two point five eight inches the width is. One point nine sixteenths of an inch.
And the height is one point three eighths inch you’re adding you know aftermarket mounts. And that’s going to. You know change the height but. This is perfect for 1/3 ko witness to go with the sights. You have on your rifle the brightness control for your red dot has 12 settings. And it’s right here on the side a rubberized ring. That goes around to really give. You good traction for the sight it’s a very smooth operation from off to your first four settings which are night vision compatible. And then we have the remain. That just increase the brightness of the dot. All the way up again to a total of 12 settings 8 daylight settings. You get into the mid-range like 7 & 6 power. This will give you 50000 hours of battery life. And that’s over 5 years so you’re going to be able to install your cr2032 battery which is really common. And get an extensive amount of battery life. That does is you ever need. This rifle for that bump in the night. You need to just pull.
You don’t have to worry about. It not being on you can just leave. This on constant this really makes. This a very friendly sight for self-defense. If you’re like I constantly leave my electronic sights on. It never fails I get out to the range. And the battery’s dead the brightness setting is marked on the side as well for intensity. And then of course your battery cap it’s a large slot I’m going to go ahead. And remove the cap so. We can just see the battery inside it’s locked in with small brass teeth. All the way around this holds into place really. Most guys will recommend to just change. This out once a year just to be on the safe side but again it’ll last a lot longer there are. Some rubber rings right here. And there are ings around the side. This was going to protect your battery but. Some features of the t2 over the t1 first off are the lens caps. And that’s been one of the things that’s been a problem the t2 is a little bit longer to allow for these slipcovers to come over.
Than the bikini cover. That was originally on here. That can get lost it just gets in the way but. This is a see-through piece at the back. And at the front it’s actually a covered piece. One thing you’ll notice is there’s no peace here. Iwas at the range the other day. We were loading up it popped out somehow. And that’s one of the things about. You know I was kind of surprised. This comes out because the clear piece does not come out. It is very difficult to remove but it’s also fairly difficult to remove. These covers they are on there the tight but. They will come off one of the cool things about. This too is it gives. You somewhat of an advantage is. You can put anti-reflective kill flash in the threads right here to be able to keep reflection down. Another difference of the t2 are. These built-up areas around your elevation cap. This helps protect it there were. That thought this might be a little bit vulnerable with.
It just hanging out. It comes off fairly easily. One of the things about. You can use a spent shell. You can use a screwdriver. And then these two little small slots in the cap. Now there is a tool. That Aimpoint provides. That actually will fit. This but you can also use. This wind age cover and be able to get to those slots. And here you can see the two little nubs on top of the cap. They fit right into the holes the corresponding holes in your wind age. And elevation and inside the cap. It is marked for the direction. You want to make your adjustments. You can hear it is tactile. And it’s audible this is the site adjustment tool with the knobs at the front. And also with a star key at the bottom. And there is an o-ring. That protects this as well. This site is rated for 25 meters submersible so. That can handle about. Anything and then -. These are shockproof. You know just built like tanks. Imean there’s no doubt about. It is an aluminum. One piece body it has a really nice matte hard anodized finish on here.
That keeps from scratching in fact I’ve scuffed. This up a number of times. And just rubbed and the finish just comes right back. One of the best advancements of the t2 over the t1 is the optical enhancement of the glass it’s a better contrast. One of the things about the t1 which. You don’t really notice. You compare it with the t2 is the t1 has a little bit of a blue tint to. That the t2 does not have. And the T to the dot is very crisp in fact it’s advanced over the t1. You put a magnifier up to the t1. You get a little bit of a. And a long not with the t2. It stays very crisp. And very small again it’s a two MOA dot. It really makes it crisp. And able to get out to distances. And the reflective coating is. Even better on the t2 so you’re getting a number of different advantages with the superior glass with the protection here with a little bit of the length of the site itself.
You know the t1 has been awesome. And it’s still a great sight but. You want to step it up just a little bit to the t2 you’re ready to go. And the t2 mounts to. Any of the t1 sights. Now here it at 12 this is really bright bring it down to 11:10 you’re not really going to be able to capture. This without looking through. It with your naked eye but. You can definitely get the idea. This is 9 really up to about 7 you’re getting enough to be able to see. And then as you get into. Brighter sunlight. You can jump this up here at 11:00. And then we’re going to jump. It to 12 you can see it’s really over the top the Aimpoint red dot sights are designed to be.
Both eyes opened you see the dot. You see the dot with. Both eyes it’s almost like you’re just looking at a dot. This will really help for objects. That are running it helps to be able to keep your peripheral vision open. It helps with eye fatigue. And really the way to shoot is. Both eyes open whether pistol shotgun rifle doesn’t matter but the aim point really helps to develop. Both eyes open you know with your muscle memory being able to keep. One of the things about. This site too is its parallax free which means. That no matter you adjust your head on the stock. That as long as you can see the dot. And it’s cited in it should be right there the impact will be.
Where the dot is that keeps. You from having to be exactly in a specific spot there are no sites. That are truly parallax free there’s always a little bit of parallax adjustment but for practical purposes. This works perfectly the t 2 is also unlimited eye relief so doesn’t matter. You are on the rifle. You mount the site you’re still getting. That really great crisp dot. And you’re able to see. It in focus these sights are perfect for your AR, but they’re also great for shotgun for higher calibers. Because there are shockproof. Even for handgun you naturally shoot with. Both eyes open with. This optic there’s not a lot of going on around. It makes it a lot shoot faster. You close one eye you’re going to be slow moving around looking for the dot. Both eyes open you see the dot as. You move and man it’s just really fast but the great thing is. You want magnification. You can attach a magnifier on here move. It out of the way you need to get close-quarter bring it back in for more precision.
This gives you just a lot of options so. It comes to aim points Robbie. What is your thought on aim point. This is the t2 so you think what’s your experience cuz. You do a lot of three guns yep a lot of (Steel) challenge stuff. You vision the implant is that’s its the bet your life battle sight it’s the sight. Iwould put on my rifle. Ihad to depend my life on. This rifle I pick my rifle up. Iturn the aim point on. That it’s going to work it’s going to be accurate the dots going to be bright I’m going to be able to see. It’s just it’s everything. You would ever want in a high quality high-end optic there just isn’t. Anything and with the fifty thousand an hour back mean.
You don’t have to turn the thing on. Even leave all the time yep my in points. Ihave at home on my rifles beside the bed stand. They stay on your round. Ichange the battery out. Once a year they are so small. You know they’re so. They make such a small footprint on the rifle. Ithink that’s kind of part of the coolest absolutely it’s small. And obtrusive it’s out of the way. You don’t even notice. That it’s on the rifle until your shoulder. And the dots right there in front of your eye right. Where it’s supposed to be. You think this compared to like the m4. You know because the read the reticle mean the agenda is larger. You know you think. That as far as you shoot it targets. And transitions my opinion. Ilike the smaller sight better. It doesn’t it doesn’t force your eye into the tube as much so. You end up with tunnel vision with tube.
You can shoot both eyes open. You see around the site with. Both eyes a lot better so it’s a lot easier to pick up other targets in your peripheral vision with the smaller site versus a larger site so. Iproposed eyes open. We just made to shoot that’s right. It doesn’t obstruct. That second eye now as far as. This kinetic development groups I’d like mount just press in right here. And then the mount comes right off. That is a really cool system. That has skeletonized here. This is a very high quality mount. This comes in a package from OpticsPlanet. And then here it comes. It pops right back out so it’s a really easy way to amount mount.
Now there’s a small little lever inside to keep. This just from inadvertently getting bumped. That makes that nice — but locked. And it’s rock-solid so. It will return to zero. Any point it’s also added helicoidal steel threads. That go into the aluminum body. This will keep you from stripping out your aluminum threads as far as price for the endpoint. These guys are super quality endpoint makes really great optics obviously with a track record with the US military they’re just standing up in combat. And because of that the price reflects. These sites typically run in the over the $700 range in fact. This optic without the side mount is seven hundred. And fifty dollars and then.
You go with the side mount. It can get up to about 800. If you’re looking for the t1. It typically runs about sixty dollars less you’re not getting the night vision compatibility you’re not getting the advanced coatings. And the better optic view. That you’re getting with the t2. You want to go with the h1. Or h2 you’re even going about a hundred. And twenty dollars less so without night vision compatibility but. All the other features. That the t1 and the t2 have so. You know it’s according to. What you want to spend on your optic. If you’re just going out to the range. And you’re playing around. You know you might want to go with. Something a little less but. You want something. You can depend your life on endpoint sites are the deal. You can see this over. And over with all the different reviews. And the write-ups that come up with.
These sites I requested. This optic from OpticsPlanet. Iwant to thank them for sending the site but as well. They give a five percent discount. You suit 0-0 and the coupon code. Now down below in the description. All the links directly to. This site and the other options. You can get one of the great things about OpticsPlanet is. Whatever you order. You get a 5% discount using suit zero. Now at the end of my videos. Itraditionally give a big thumbs up its just. What I’ve been doing for a long time. It takes a lot of energy a lot of time to put together a solid review especially. If you’re going to try to test. And you’re going to do. All the things that need to be done to show. Whatever the product is. What it’s capable of. Idon’t review things. Idon’t like I just don’t.
Or things I wouldn’t keep for myself. Or own for myself I have been getting some heat for. That saying I only do positive reviews I’m going to omit the thumbs up. And there’s nothing better to admit. That thumbs up in the Aimpoint site. It stands so far on its own. One thing I always recommend to guys is. Whenever you’re looking at a review look at a number of different reviews here. We have the t2 it’s a definite improvement over the t1 in a lot of different areas again. It runs about $60 more but. Ifeel like that it’s well worth the extra fines but that’s your choice. Everything to do with budgets. What the intended purpose is. If you’re just going out to the range to plink spending $700 is an overkill. You know the primary arms microdots excellent the vortex excellent but. You really want the best you’re not going to be able to beat the t1. Or the t2 and the t2 especially be strong be of good courage god bless america long live the Republic
One of the great things about aim point. And so that’s a you know docket. Now the aim point the endpoint sites are meant to be shot. Both the endpoint sites are meant to. This site on the OpticsPlanet website runs about $750 important into the aluminum body. This will keep your aluminum housing the strip the. Now the aim point sites are not expensive. They put a lot of quality into their optics guys the same point t2 it’s just awesome.
